Site: Helsingborg, Sweden
Area: 15.000 m2
Status: Built 2013

Our principle is that trying a new sport should be a simple, relaxing experience. It should be free of charge and there should be no pressure to join a sports club. The area is to function as a meeting place that is accessible for all, both for those who want to participate in an activity and for those who just want to meet and hang out with their friends. The sports oasis is primarily intended for young people aged 10 to 20.

The facility contains a wide range of possibilities and attractions. Various types of street sports such as skating track, street basket, hockey court, multisport court, climbing wall and table tennis are just some of the choices. The sports oasis contains a ‘hump’ football field, which through its playful movement encourages games irrespective of age. There will be a café and it will be possible to borrow equipment for the different sports. It will therefore also be a unifying space for the surrounding sports facilities. The area will be urban with rubber asphalt in different colours, scenic lighting and a design that works on the urbanisation of an area in the middle of the green park.

The facility is expected to be completed in spring 2013.
