As landscape architects, we are concerned with the public space where people meet and move around in everyday life. At Kragh-Berglund, we are passionate about creating the best framework for these meetings and designing spaces that support community and the good life for a diversity of people.

We are concerned with how our projects are part of the larger context of the city and the landscape as well as with understanding the many functions, traces, and historical layers that our projects must relate to. As landscape architects and planners, our projects must always be integrated into the existing site, in order to create both renewal and coherence to what already is.

-We want our projects to point to the future and help solve the challenges we face as a society, says Hans Kragh, CEO Kragh & Berglund. We try to provide answers to these challenges with a design that makes sense to users and brings people together.

A good example of that is Rågsved motorikbana, located in a suburb of Stockholm, were Kragh-Berglund has been responsible for the transformation of an abandoned soccer field into an activity park for unorganized sports and activities. The project is situated behind the suburban center in a socially vulnerable area amongst apartment buildings, school and day care centers. The renewal adds activity and sports elements to a wide group of users who have been involved in the programming and design process along the way.

–It is great to see how the activity park has brought new life to the area, now being a highly trafficked destination and meeting place for the people in Rågsved. When we visit the project we see an abundance of activity, with different groups using it, says Maria Höök, partner at Kragh & Berglund.
