In an undeveloped old pocket of Sankt Hans Gade, a small inconspicuous playground has existed for several years. As part of the municipality's general effort to modernize its playgrounds, Kragh&Berglund transformed the place to a small park with a simple design that creates an unusual playground and a safe recreational space for children. The idea was to ensure as many applications as possible using simple means as well as an intimate pocket to which the children can retreat.
A PLEASANT PLACE AWAY FROM THE STRESS OF THE CITY
The playground has been shaped as a tropical beach - a manageable world far from the bustle of the city. A single surface of blue asphalt resembles an ocean surrounding an island nation of hills covered in artificial grass spread out on a beach made of play sand. The islands are connected by beams and a suspension bridge, and poles and a real seamark have been placed between them. Benches resembling lifebuoys have been placed in the ocean.
