Nørrebro has the highest population density in Denmark, which causes pressure on public areas. Nørrebro United is a sports club, primarily football, that has grown the most in the last 10 years in Denmark. The little players show up in kleats, but the club can only offer asphalt, gravel or rubber pitches and no outdoor facilities for the players. Nørrebro United will therefore, together with non-profit housing associations, create sought-after leisure facilities and organisation that support an accessible and strong leisure opportunity in the housing associations’ areas.

The development project is based on three locations located in some of Nørrebro’s most vulnerable neighbourhoods: One in the middle of a block and two between buildings. The development project is based on Lundtoftegade, where user processes with a focus on local needs and dreams form the basis for the project’s concept, strategies and elements.

The flagship project was developed based on the diverse group of residents in Lundtoftegade’s cautious desire to open and share their courtyard space with the city in dialogue with Nørrebro United’s committed coaches, who dream of the coolest ball game environments possible for all children..

The purpose of the outline proposal is to present concepts, strategies and elements that are based on equal parts respect for the qualities of the existing space and innovative reinterpretation of the mini pitch, play and meeting places. The signature of the project is thus a showdown with boundaries and is characterized by diverse interests that merge into each other and at the same time open up spaces of opportunity
