The new neighbourhood of Sluseholmen, located in Copenhagen’s southern harbour, is currently undergoing rapid development, with numerous new residential and commercial complexes under construction. Kragh & Berglund has been commissioned to advise the contractor on the area’s streets, canals, road bridges and wharfs.

The neighbourhood’s primary urban space is oriented westward, facing Fordgraven, offering excellent opportunities to create appealing and vibrant public areas.

Roads, promenades and bridges — forming the backdrop of daily life — are constructed to ensure efficient logistics and accessibility throughout the district. A wide promenade stretching from Fordgraven to the new metro station will support outdoor dining and similar activities, while green boulevards are being established within the area itself.

Kragh Berglund is also responsible for designing and planning the neighbourhood’s new roads, which will connect it to surrounding areas.

A comprehensive traffic solution has been required — one that accommodates traffic from the southern fields and is robust enough to ease the area’s existing traffic issues.
