DTU Space produces high-tech space equipment for the entire world including NASA. In the context of the university’s expanding campus, Kragh&Berlund have helped design an outdoor area for SPACE Building 328 inspired by sound graphs and the starry sky among other things.
The landscape south of the building is characterized by oak trees, and it is one of the only ones on campus with the forest right by the windows. The foliage filters the sun and screens the building from Elektrovej. The trees are a great asset to the new building, Normalhus 328 – an extension of Building 328, and the oak trees and wild forest is preserved as an integrated part of the design.
A GREEN MEET PLACE INSPIRED BY THE STARRY SKY
The landscape around Building 328 is designed to meet the need for a better traffic solution to and from the building. The functional solution of the traffic situation has been combined with the establishment of a pleasant arrivals’ zone and a recreational area where students and employees can take breaks.
